# Paste a series, in order

> Copy several things, then paste them one after another into a form or spreadsheet. PerchDeck's Stack queues your copies and pastes them in order with one shortcut.

Part of [PerchDeck](https://perchdeck.app/) for Windows. Canonical page: https://perchdeck.app/features/paste-stack

Moving ten values from one window to another usually means ten trips back and forth. Stack lets you copy them all first, then paste them one after another where you need them.

## How it works
1. **Start collecting.** Press the shortcut, or the Collect button. While it says “Collecting”, every new copy joins the queue. Keys: `Ctrl+Shift+Alt+C`.
2. **Copy as usual.** Copy each thing the way you always do, with Ctrl+C. Each one is added to the queue, in the order you copied it. Keys: `Ctrl+C`.
3. **Paste one at a time.** Click where you want the first value and press the shortcut. The next item is pasted. Repeat. The “Up next” card always shows what the next paste will insert. Keys: `Ctrl+Shift+Alt+V`.

## What it does
- **Full control of the queue.** Drag to reorder, paste from any row, Skip next, Start over, remove one, or Empty the stack. The notch shows “Stack 3” (entries left to paste).
- **Paste all into a spreadsheet.** Put the whole queue into a spreadsheet at once, as a row (cells side by side) or a column (top to bottom), pasted straight in or just copied. It uses tab-separated text that Excel, Google Sheets and Airtable read as cells. Text only.
- **Instant numbers.** When two or more queued items are numbers, a bar shows count, Sum, Avg, Min and Max. It understands 1,250.50, $99, 15% and (42) for −42, and does not treat dates or phone numbers as numbers.

## Shortcuts
- `Ctrl+Shift+Alt+C`: Start or stop collecting copies
- `Ctrl+Shift+Alt+V`: Paste the next one

All shortcuts can be changed in Settings > Shortcuts.

## Good to know
- The queue lives in memory only. It is gone when you quit PerchDeck.
- Pasting works by sending Ctrl+V to the app in front. Programs running as administrator ignore it unless PerchDeck is also run as administrator.
- Paste presses closer than 250 ms apart are ignored (key repeat).

## Questions
### Why does Stack not paste into one of my apps?
Stack pastes by sending Ctrl+V to the app in front. Windows blocks that into programs running as administrator, so run PerchDeck as administrator too if you need it there.

### Is the stack saved when I close PerchDeck?
No. The queue is kept in memory only and is cleared when you quit.
