# Three clocks in your notch

> A countdown timer, stopwatch and Pomodoro that run side by side and show a live ring on the PerchDeck notch. Start or pause from any app with Ctrl+Shift+Alt+T.

Part of [PerchDeck](https://perchdeck.app/) for Windows. Canonical page: https://perchdeck.app/features/timer

Timer, Stopwatch and Pomodoro run side by side, and switching between them never stops one. They keep running with the panel closed, with a ring and the time on the notch.

## What it does
- **Timer.** Presets of 5, 10, 15, 25 and 45 minutes, or any length up to 24 hours, with +1 minute and Reset.
- **Stopwatch.** A Lap button that keeps up to 50 laps.
- **Pomodoro.** 25/5 (long break 15) or 50/10 (long break 20), or Custom. Four focus sessions per round, then the long break. It counts the sessions you finished today and can start the next phase by itself (off by default).
- **Sounds.** Chime (default), Bell or Soft for the end, and Rain or Nature as a calm background while a clock runs. All are generated in the app, with no audio files.
- **No drift.** State survives a restart and is computed from timestamps. If a timer ended while the app was closed, it says “Finished while you were away”.

## Shortcuts
- `Ctrl+Shift+Alt+T`: Start or pause the timer

All shortcuts can be changed in Settings > Shortcuts.

## Good to know
- When time is up, the alert stays on the notch for up to 2 minutes.
- With “Hide the notch” on, no ring is shown, but the end-of-timer sound still plays.

## Questions
### Does the timer keep running when the panel is closed?
Yes. The notch shows a ring with the time left, and the state survives restarts.
