# PerchDeck privacy and data

> No account, no telemetry or analytics, no crash reporting, no ads.

## What leaves your PC
Two things, and nothing else:
- **The license.** PerchDeck checks it with Dodo Payments once when you activate and now and then while online. It sends the license key, the PC's name and the id Dodo gives this PC's activation. No clipboard content, no files, no usage data.
- **The AI model (optional).** It downloads from Hugging Face (huggingface.co) when you press Download. After that, AI chat talks to a helper on your own PC (127.0.0.1) that only PerchDeck can use.

The app's own pages are not allowed to reach the internet.

## Where your data lives
In `PerchDeck's data folder on your PC` on your PC:
- `perchdeck.db`: clipboard history, snippets, shelf list, calendar, to-dos, voice memo list, calculator history, scripts, AI chats, settings, the note, the timer and your license record (encrypted)
- `clips\`: images from the clipboard history
- `voice\`: voice recordings
- `ai\models\`: the AI model (about 1.82 GB), only if you download it

## Other facts
- The license key is stored encrypted with Windows' own data protection, so copying the database to another PC does not unlock anything.
- Without a connection the license keeps working for a limited time after it was last confirmed.
- Deleted clips, chats and tasks are overwritten with zeros in the database, so deleted means gone.
- The Shelf never copies, moves or deletes your original files.
- Camera preview and voice recordings stay on your PC.
- Technical logs (for example program names and error text) are written to the app's log folder. They do not contain what you copied, wrote or said.
- The clipboard history never records copies from KeePass, KeePassXC, Bitwarden, 1Password, LastPass, Dashlane, NordPass, Enpass, RoboForm or Proton Pass, nor copies that apps mark private with Windows' own opt-out.
